Some Amazing Moments – Cristiano Ronaldo dresses in traditional Saudi attire to commemorate Saudi Founding Day!
Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football star, celebrated Saudi Arabia’s second-ever Founding Day with his Al Nassr colleagues.
The five-time Ballon D’Or winner, who signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr in December, wore traditional Middle Eastern attire – the daglah robe – to mark the occasion on the day Saudi Arabia celebrates the formation of the country’s first state three centuries ago.
Ronaldo posed for a video on his Twitter and Instagram accounts, labeling the day ‘Happy founding day to Saudi Arabia.’ He smiled while wearing a gold-printed daglah and crossed his arms.
“It was a unique experience to be a part of the celebration at al-Nassr,” he continued.
Ronaldo was also photographed performing a traditional Ardah dance with Arab swords.
He was also observed carrying a Saudi flag around his shoulders.
This year’s Founding Day was only the country’s second national holiday in recognition of the momentous anniversary, and it was observed by workers across the country.
The origins of “Founding Day” may be traced back three centuries to 1727, when the first Saudi state was created under the leadership of Imam Muhammad bin Saud.
