Vin Diesel’s Fast and Furious Franchise Salary Revealed! OMG You Won’t Believe.
Vin Diesel’s salary for Fast & Furious 10 has been revealed. The action-packed street-racing franchise is currently in production for the next installment, titled Fast X, helmed by director Louis Leterrier. The upcoming movie is the first in a two-part finale to the main series which is set to end with the 11th film.
Diesel is returning along with an all-star ensemble that includes Ludacris, Charlize Theron, Scott Eastwood, and Helen Mirren. Despite an impressive lineup of actors returning for Fast & Furious 10, some big names are joining the franchise as well, such as Jason Momoa, Rita Moreno, and Brie Larson.
The A-list cast is upping the price tag on Fast & Furious 10. Its budget is slated at $300 million, the most Universal has spent on a Furious film. Despite costing the studio a pretty penny, Fast & Furious is quite the lucrative franchise, bringing in over $6 billion at the box office. Since its inception, the cost of each subsequent film has steadily increased, and reports have revealed that at least $100 million was spent on the cast salaries of Fast & Furious 10 alone.
Now, Variety has revealed what Diesel will net for Fast & Furious 10. Diesel serves as the central protagonist in the Fast Saga, solidifying his status as one of the highest-earning actors in Hollywood. The paycheck for his 10th ride in the main franchise will total $20 million.
While $2o million is nothing to complain about, it is a little surprising considering this is Diesel’s 10th film in the globally-successful franchise. In addition, the report revealed that actors of the same esteem and in similar genres are bringing in as much as Diesel just for their work in sequels from far newer franchises. For example, Tom Hardy will earn $20 million for his role in Venom 3, Joaquin Phoenix will earn the same as Diesel in Joker 2, and Chris Hems worth is also set to make $20 million for his work in Extraction 2.
Perhaps the onslaught of actors joining Fast & Furious 10 limited the budget the studio could work with for Diesel, considering newer faces such as Larson and Momoa will have the same, if not more, power to bring in viewers.
Even so, Diesel has loyal fans of the series behind him, despite his years-long feud with former Furious co-star Dwayne Johnson casting a shadow over his legacy in the franchise. However, it’s clear that Diesel is committed to ending the saga on a high note and that the studio is sparing no expense to ensure Fast & Furious 10 is a success.
