Breaking News: Jon Moxley loves AEW, Is he Coming Back to WWE??

AEW World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley re-signed with the promotion for a five-year deal that carries him through 2027. As previously reported, Moxley’s AEW deal had expired, and he worked on a handshake agreement until they finalized the new deal.

Moxley dropped the GCW World Title to Nick Gage on Saturday night. He will defend the AEW World Title against Hangman Page on the October 18th edition of Dynamite.

While speaking on today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Moxley staying with AEW and mentioned that Moxley can still do independent dates but wants to reduce the number of bookings he does outside of AEW. He also wants to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

“I think the key to all of this is you know, he signed a five-year deal. So as far as why so long? I think the answer was that he just felt…he’s not going to WWE. He doesn’t want to go to WWE, doesn’t want to put on of wanting to go to WWE and play both sides to get more money. He doesn’t want people speculating that he’s going to WWE. He wants all speculation over, and he’s with AEW for five more years. I know at some point he discussed…I don’t know how seriously, but just being a free agent and doing that as opposed to signing a new deal.”
