Extraordinary Puppy Born with Uncommon Green Fur Thanks to Pigment in Mother’s Womb! OMG Shocking
Rare Green-Furred Puppy Born on Sardinian Farm Thanks to Mother’s Unique Pigment
Cristian Mallocci, an Italian farmer from Sardinia, was astounded when one of his dogs gave birth to a puppy with green fur, a phenomenon attributed to an exceedingly rare pigment present in the mother’s womb.
The little canine, affectionately named Pistachio, arrived as one of a litter of five just a few weeks ago, surprising everyone with its distinct green tint. In contrast, Pistachio’s siblings and their cross-breed mother boast a white coat.
The occurrence of a dog being born with green fur is exceptionally unusual. This phenomenon is believed to happen when light-coated puppies come into contact with biliverdin, a green pigment also responsible for human bruising, while developing in their mother’s womb.
However, as Pistachio grows, his peculiar hue is expected to fade gradually.
Mallocci, who manages the farm alongside his brother-in-law Giannangelo Liperi, has decided to keep Pistachio and train him to assist in herding the sheep, alongside his mother, Spelacchia. The remaining puppies from the litter will be entrusted to new homes.
Regarding the significance of the green color, Mallocci regards it as a symbol of hope and luck, believing that Pistachio’s presence can bring smiles to people’s faces, especially during the challenging times of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
