The Fast and the Furious is another name for the Fast & Furious series of action movies, which mostly focus on street racing, heists, spies, and family. In addition, the franchise features short films, a TV show, live performances, video games, and theme park experiences. Universal Pictures is in charge of distribution.
The first movie, which starred Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster, was released in 2001. In the 2003 film 2 Fast 2 Furious, which also starred Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris, Walker made a comeback. In the third movie, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), which starred Lucas Black and had a new ensemble, including Sung Kang, Diesel made a brief cameo appearance. For the fourth movie, Fast & Furious (2009), which featured Kang and Gal Gadot, the original cast came together. Fast Five (2011), the franchise’s fifth film, adding Dwayne Johnson, Gibson, and Ludacris to the core cast.
Fast & Furious 6 (2013) introduced Jason Statham as the major antagonist for Furious 7, who would later return in subsequent installments. Walker made his final appearance in the seventh movie, which also saw the addition of Nathalie Emmanuel to the ensemble cast after his untimely death. The eighth movie, The Fate of the Furious (2017), introduced Charlize Theron as a recurring antagonist and was Johnson’s final outing in The Fast Saga’s primary films. Johnson later costarred with Statham in Hobbs & Shaw (2019), the first spin-off movie in the series. In the ninth movie, F9 (2021), John Cena made his debut as an antagonist. He will return in the tenth movie, Fast X (2023).
The Turbo Charged Prelude for 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) and Los Bandoleros (2009) are two additional short films in the series that serve as filler material between the longer features.
