Michelle Rodriguez Provides a Filming Update Regarding Fast & Furious 10!
Fast & Furious 10 actor Michelle Rodriguez provides an update on the state of the action movie’s development during the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con.
The production of Fast X is updated by Michelle Rodriguez. The Fast & Furious film series comprises ten episodes as of Fast X, and it has been active since 2001. Since then, the series has evolved from its modest racing origins and embraced chaos to produce thrilling action spectacles. Each movie has been more important than the last, and the stunts have gotten crazier and crazier. Although the franchise has become the eighth highest-grossing film series of all time with over $6 billion in revenue, moviegoers have been more than ready to go along for the ride.
In addition, a large number of series regulars are returning for Fast X, including Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Ludacris, and Rodriguez. But with the addition of Brie Larson, Jason Momoa, Alan Ritchson, Rita Moreno, and Daniela Melchior, the movie also gains a sizable roster of fresh talent. After director Justin Lin abruptly left the project shortly after it began, Fast X experienced several production delays. Lin has since been replaced by Louis Leterrier from The Incredible Hulk, and filming has since started.
Rodriguez now provides a production update for Fast X to Deadline while she is at San Diego Comic-Con. There are just four or five weeks left to shoot, she claims, and production managed to continue well despite losing their director. Rodriguez also says that she has finished filming for the picture and that her character Letty will not be involved in any further shooting. Here are Rodriguez’s thoughts on the making of Fast X:
I couldn’t believe it, bro. Let me tell you, nothing was stopping that machine even after we lost the director and everything else. We’re nearly finished. The completion of the project is practically four to five weeks away. I’ve already completed, bro. I was done shooting. We completed our task, baby. You will witness so many crazy things, I can assure you, that you will think, “Oh, I get it.”
As Rodriguez points out, a powerful franchise movie like Fast X may continue to be successful despite a disastrous occurrence like losing your director. Following his public spat with Dwayne Johnson, Fast & Furious actor Diesel, who also serves as producer on this latest project, has been criticized for being difficult to deal with; Lin’s departure is thought to have been influenced by his on-set behavior. Diesel, who frequently keeps the series close to his heart, was probably the one to ultimately keep things on course.
Even though primary photography on a movie like Fast X is scheduled to end up in a few weeks, additional footage will probably be added through reshoots in the months to come. The movie’s May 19, 2023 release date is still set in stone, though, considering that the development appears to be proceeding as planned. As work progresses on Fast X, more information will be released.
