Pakistan’s COVID-19 Positivity rate at 2.7 pct with 433 new cases!

ISLAMABAD, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — With 433 fresh cases reported during the last 24 hours, the COVID-19 positivity rate in Pakistan has reached around 2.70 percent, according to the country’s ministry of health on Friday.

The new infections were detected after diagnostic testing was performed on 16,075 samples.

With the new infections, the overall number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 has risen to 1,567,893 in the Asian country, showed the data released by the ministry.

A total of 332 people were reported to have recovered from the pandemic over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,528,145, according to the ministry’s statistics.

A total of 30,569 people died of COVID-19 in Pakistan, with six more deaths reported over the last 24 hours, said the ministry.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the worst-hit region with 593,120 infections recorded, followed by the eastern Punjab province, which has reported 520,440 cases so far.
